ICD-10 Codes Not Allowed For Primary Diagnosis

The Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership has put together a list of ICD-10 codes that are not allowed to be used as primary diagnosis.

Providers have had claims denied with the explanation stating, “The primary diagnosis code is not covered.” Be sure to review your billing processes to ensure they are compliant with ICD-10 requirements and that they account for the ICD-10 codes that may result in a denial.
