mumms CEO Leo Radosta was honored to receive Capital Caring’s 2015 Passion for Innovation Award. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed to the healthcare industry through their dedication to innovation and progress. The award was presented at the 2015 Capital Caring Passion for Caring Gala in McLean, Virginia.
Radosta was presented the award in recognition of his tireless work for the hospice and palliative care community. Radosta wrote the first lines of code for mumms Hospice Software over 25 years ago and has been a continuous leader in the hospice software and EMR field. Currently, mumms Software, which Radosta founded in 1989, is working on a new, easy-to-use system that is built on modern technology so that it works seamlessly for the unique needs of hospice. The system, Hummingbird, is on track to substantially improve the lives of hospice owners, clinicians, billers, staff members and volunteers across the country.
“No one deserves this honor and recognition more than Leo,” said Capital Caring CEO Malene Davis. “His experience in this industry and penchant for innovation is constantly pushing the industry forward and making a difference in millions of peoples’ lives.”
Capital Caring also honored Senator Bob Dole and Senator Tom Daschle at the event with the Pioneers in Hospice Award for their vigorous work in the Senate to champion hospice care. “I’m grateful to be recognized and honored to be in such remarkable company,” said Radosta. “The hospice community gives so much to patients and their families. I’m privileged to work with and for people who do such meaningful work.”
