September is Emergency Preparedness Month and, especially as mumms comes off of the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, we encourage all of our healthcare facilities to review their emergency plan. mumms Software was founded in New Orleans 25 years ago, and has seen the devastation that natural disasters can cause in a community. We are excited to see the recovery our city has made in the past 10 years and we are committed to continuing to contribute to its growth.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, mumms Owner and CEO Leo Radosta saw the vulnerability of patients who were deemed at-risk and could not be located during the storm. Following the storm, Leo built AtRisk Registry and began helping hospice and home health agencies use the registry as a part of their emergency preparedness plan. If you do not have an emergency evacuation plan, you can get more information on creating one here. This month, we encourage everyone to participate in the government campaign Don’t Wait. Communicate. Make Your Emergency Plan Today.
