Old patient data on the PC/Laptop
This information is deleted from the PC/Laptop upon login. This is done to clean up the PC/Laptop hard drive and improve HIPAA precautions. This does not mean the information is deleted from the server! The current default settings are:
o Patients that have not been modified within 90 (*) ________ days are deleted
o Discharged patients older than 90 (*) ________days are deleted for non-Bereavement Coordinators.
o Discharged patients older than 90 (*) ________days are deleted for Bereavement Coordinators.
Archiving
Archiving can be set so that each form or order can be kept for a different number of days instead of the default 30 days for forms and 90 days for orders. For example, CNA Visit records can be kept for 7 days, while the Initial Nursing Assessment can be kept forever.
Please note: Archiving is used to make the charts more manageable. When archived, a chart opens and synchs much faster than when un-archived. Therefore, the lower the number of days worth an item is kept, the faster the program will work. So, please think about using as low a number of days as is feasible for your workers to get their work done.
For example, on a day-to-day basis, if you really only need to see the last week’s worth of Nursing Visit Record forms, then only 7 days of that form should be kept. If you really only need to see the last 3 days worth of CNA Visit Record forms, then only 3 days worth should be kept. All others can be viewed by un-archiving the chart.
Contact HBC-support@mumms.com or your mumms® Trainer to review or make changes to your current archiving schedule.
